4.3.3 Oscillographic Fault Records
As an option, SIPROTEC
®
4 devices can have waveform capturing and event record-
ing. Furthermore, the elements that are shown in the fault records can be selected by
the user.
The fault record data are retrieved from the device memory by DIGSI
®
4 and are
stored as oscillographic records in standard COMTRADE format.
The DIGRA
®
4 program is used to convert the oscillographic data into graphical rep-
resentations that can be used to analyse the fault or the event captured by the device.
DIGRA
®
4 calculates additional values from the waveform data, e.g. impedances and
rms values, and displays the captured and calculated values in:
q
analogue curves with timebase (time signals),
q
phasor diagrams,
q
locus diagrams, and
q
harmonic graphs.
