Note: Without the flow sensor fitted the user will
only be able to set the triggered breath level
percentage.
Press the ON/OFF button (F) to activate pressure support.
Wait for the ventilator to deliver a new mandatory breath, on completion
of this breath pull the test lung, after the ventilator has delivered the
synchronized breath, pull the test lung in approximately 0.5 second
intervals.
Verify that:
the ventilator does not trigger on the 2 to 3 test lung initiated breaths
before delivering the next synchronized breath, but provides pressure
support to the test lung initiated breaths. (This can be detected in the
pressure waveform window by the increased size of test lung breaths.)
Step 68 Set Pressure support to OFF
Step 69 Select Ventilation Off from the Mode Select
panel. Press the confirm button.
Step 70 Complete functional testing is complete.
The ventilator is now ready for basic set-up for patient ventilation if
required. The ventilator should not be turned off, but remain powered up
and in Ventilation Off mode until needed.
