9. Ventilator Set-up
Note: The ventilator cannot be started on battery power.
9.1 Preparing the Ventilator for Use
To prepare the ventilator for functional testing and later patient ventilation, carry
out the following steps.
Step 1 Cleaning
Make sure that the ventilator has been cleaned in accordance with the
instructions in “Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization” on page 257.
Step 2 Connection of Oxygen and Air Hoses to the Ventilator
Connect the Air and Oxygen supply hoses to the ports on the rear of the
ventilator.
