21. Oxygen Calibration Routines
The ventilator has two oxygen cell calibration routines. The first calibration is the
100% oxygen calibration (one point). This calibration is carried out at the
following intervals after the unit is turned on: 0.5 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes,
90 minutes and then at 8 hourly intervals.
The second routine is the 21% and 100% oxygen calibration (two point). This
calibration should only be carried out if the oxygen cell has been replaced or has
registered below 21% (cell drifting with age).
21.1 One Point O
2
Calibration
The user can carry out a one point calibration of the
system by accessing the oxygen sensor calibration
panel from the services panel.
The ventilator can be connected to a patient for this
calibration.
The ventilator will continue to deliver the user set
percentage of O
2
during calibration.
The FiO
2
measured value will read CALIB in the
FiO
2
parameter control until the routine is complete.
21.2 Two Point O
2
Calibration
The two point calibration routine can only be
performed from the Ventilation Off mode. To carry
out a two point calibration access the Monitor
Services panel.
Warning: The user must not carry out the two point calibration whilst
connected to a patient. The ventilator is in Ventilation Off mode and the
calibration process will deliver 21% O
2
to the patient for 7 minutes.
Pressing the Two Point O2 Calibration button the user will have to wait 7
minutes before carrying out any new operation.
The FiO
2
measured value will read CALIB in the FiO
2
parameter control until the
routine is complete.
