14.1.12.4 Continuing without flow with TTV ON
When the user disconnects the flow sensor when ventilating in a mode with TTV
ON, the ventilator on disconnection defaults the PIP level to 5 mbar above the set
PEEP level, irrespective of what the user has set.
14.1.13 Overshoot
Due to patient circuit and/or patient lung compliance
overshoot may be present in the inspiratory part of
the wave form.
This overshoot can be eliminated by increasing the
change wave shape value.
14.1.14 Wave Shaping
The ventilator allows the user to modify the wave shape.
To modify the wave shape the user should select the
Options and Service Data Button in the
mode panel,
Then select the Wave Shaping button.
From the Change Wave Shape panel the user can alter the wave shape.
Their are two default values for the wave shape, one for standard ventilation and
one for standard ventilation with TTV.
Note: Wave shaping has no effect in HFO Only mode.
For standard ventilation (in this case ventilation without TTV) the user defined
setting is stored in the ventilators memory. The setting is transferred between
modes and is only reset when the ventilator is restarted (turned off and then on
again).
When the user selects TTV a new default value is substituted in the wave shape
panel. The user can then modify the TTV waveform. This setting is also stored in
the ventilators memory.
