19.0.5 Unexpected Rise or drop in Mean P (SLE5000 only)
In HFO mode MAP alarms are automatically set at 5 mbar above and below the
mean pressure level. This is not a user set alarm and is not shown anywhere on
the screen. When this automatically set threshold is crossed, the alarm is
generated.
Action: Check patient. Check patient circuit and water trap. If nothing appears to
have changed press “AUTOSET”.
19.0.6 Unexpected Rise or Drop in Max P (SLE5000 only)
In HFO mode the Maximum pressure alarms are automatically set 5 mbar above
and below the maximum pressure. This is not a user set alarm and is not shown
anywhere on the screen. When the automatically set threshold is crossed then
the alarm is generated.
Action: Check patient. Check patient circuit and water trap. If nothing appears to
have changed then press “AUTOSET”.
19.0.7 Unexpected Rise or Drop in Min P (SLE5000 only)
In HFO mode the Minimum pressure alarms are automatically set 5 mbar above
the and below the minimum pressure. This is not a user set alarm and is not
shown anywhere on the screen. When the automatically set threshold is crossed
then the alarm is generated.
Action: Check patient. Check patient circuit and water trap. If nothing appears to
have changed then press “AUTOSET”.
19.0.8 Continuing Positive Pressure
If alarms are not manually set or adjusted, the ventilator automatically sets alarm
thresholds above and below the selected ventilation parameters. A “Continuing
Positive Pressure” alarm is generated if there is an increase of 5 mbar above the
selected PEEP, which lasts for longer than 10 seconds.
19.0.9 Leaking Fresh Gas
The alarm message “Leaking Fresh Gas” means that fresh gas to the patient is
leaking somewhere. This must not be confused with the alarm message “Patient
Leak”. There will be a leak of fresh gas somewhere in the patient circuit between
the wall supply and the ventilator humidifier, or the humidifier and patient
connector.
Action: Check patient. Check all connections, temperature probe ports in the
patient circuit and the watertrap.
