Step 14 For the SLE4000 ventilator: Select Ventilation Off from the Mode Select
panel. Press the confirm button. Advance to set Step 18
For the SLE5000 ventilator: Select HFO+CMV from the Mode Select panel, but
press the confirm button. Advance to Step 15.
10.0.8 Functional Test of HFO+CMV Mode
Set the a Delta P of 10mbar
Step 15 Verify that:
the ventilator cycles with oscillations in both the inspiratory and
expiratory phases.
the HFO waveforms appear in the waveform windows.
Step 16 Press the HFO Activity button on the Mode
panel to activate the HFO Activity Panel.
Press the Expiratory Only button.
Press the Return button.
Verify that:
the ventilator cycles with oscillations in the expiratory phase only.
Step 17 Reset the HFO activity to continuous. Select Ventilation Off from the Mode
Select panel. Press the confirm button.
Step 18 Quick Setup Complete
The ventilator is now ready for basic set-up for patient ventilation. The
ventilator should not be turned off, but remain powered up and in
Ventilation Off mode until needed.

commencing with basic setup.
