Gun Body Cleaning
Shoots a jet of pure makeup through the Gun Body and recirculates the makeup back
into the Mixing Tank through a tube before it reaches the Ink Return Gutter. This is
similar to “Start Jetting With Cleaning,” but provides a more thorough cleaning of the
Gun Body and may be useful if there is an obstruction in the Printhead. After running
makeup through the system, Gun Body Cleaning shuts the JetStream down.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE: Gun Body Cleaning should be used
sparingly. It briefly shoots pure makeup fluid through the system. Frequent
use of this function can dilute the ink, resulting in poor print quality, wasted
ink, and the potential to overflow the Mixing Tank.
Drain Printer
Drains the Mixing Tank. Potential uses for this function are before preventative
maintenance done by a technician, if the system is going to be shut down for a long
period of time, or if the viscosity in the Mixing Tank is extremely low and the user cannot
wait days for enough makeup to evaporate to bring the ink viscosity back into acceptable
range.
WARNING: Stop jetting before activating this function. If the drain line is
opened, it is possible for ink to spray into the room, onto people, or into
people’s eyes.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE: This function should only be
activated by trained, qualified personnel. If in doubt, contact your
authorized Squid ink Distributor.
Items needed to drain the printer are:
• Paper towels
• 5-gallon hazardous liquids container
