2.6.2 Syslog Server
In Supermicro switches, Syslog messages can be re-directed to a Syslog server.
Follow the steps below to configure the Syslog server.
Enters the configuration mode
ip-address –IP address of Syslog server
Exits the configuration mode.
Displays the Syslog configuration.
Optional step – saves this configuration
to be part of startup configuration.
The “no logging <ip-address>” command deletes the Syslog server.
The example below shows the commands used to configure a Syslog server.
SMIS# configure terminal
SMIS(config)# logging 192.168.1.3
SMIS(config)# end
SMIS# show logging

Syslog logging: enabled(Number of messages 0)
Console logging: disabled(Number of messages 0)
