•Checkconditionoftires:properlyinated,noseriouscuts,bulges,tread
wearoranysignsofmisalignment;valvestemsnottouchingwheels,rimsor
brakedrums;valvecapsinplaceandnoobjectsstuckbetweenthewheels.
•Checkthatbothtiresareofsametype,forexample,notmixedradialand
biastypeandthattheircircumferencesarematched.
•Checkwheelbearingandhub:noobviousleakingonoutsideorinsidewheel.
Suspension
•Conditionofsprings(leaforair),springhangers,shacklesandU-bolts.
•Axlealignment.
•Conditionoftorquerodarms.
•Ifequippedwithslidingaxles,checkpositionandalignment.Lookfor
damaged,wornormissingparts,alllockspresent,fullyinplaceandlocked.
•Flexibleairtubingnotcracked,cut,crimpedorotherwisedamaged.Secured
againsttangling,draggingandchang.
Brakes
•Conditionofbrakedrums.Withbrakesreleased,lookforanoticeablegap
betweenlininganddrum.(Thischeckcannotbemadeifdustcoversare
inplace.)
•Conditionofbrakehoses:checkforanychang.
•Checkbrakechambermountingboltsandbrackets.
•Checkslackadjustersandchamberpushrodtravel.Withbrakesapplied
orreleased,lookforconspicuouslydifferentpositionsoftheslackadjusters
forproperbrakeadjustment..
•Checkspringbrakes.
