Reduction(SCR)tomeetEPA2010emissions.Thesystemisdesignedtorequirevery
littledriverinterfacetomaintaincorrectoperation.Thetechnologyutilizesapassive
regeneration;requiringnofueltobeinjectedtocleantheDPF.InEPA2007anactive
regeneration(fuelwasinjected)wasrequiredtocleanouttheDPFproducingvery
highexhaustoutlettemperatures.Certainvocationaldutycycleswillrequiretheuse
offueland/oraparkedregenerationtocleanoutbuilt-upsootintheparticulatelter.
Exhausttemperaturewillincreaseduringaparkedregeneration.Whenparkingthe
vehicletoperformaparkedregenerationkeepawayfromanyammablematerial,
vaporsorstructures.

Exhaustgasesandcomponentscan
beatextremelyhightemperatures
duringregeneration.Whenparkingthe
vehicle,keepawayfromanyammable
materials,vapors,orstructures.
DANGER
Thetemperatureoftheexhaustsystem
componentsduringtheregeneration
processcanexceed350degreesC
(660F).Theexhaustgasleaving
thesystemcanreach420degreesC
(788F).V ariousfactors(including
ambienttemperatureanddurationofthe
regenerationprocess)determinewhen
thesecomponentswillreturntonormal
operatingtemperatureafterregeneration
hascompleted.Beextremelycareful
aroundthesehotcomponents.Contact
withthesecomponentscanresultin
seriouspersonalinjury.
