TheSRSairbagisintendedtosupplement—notreplace—thestandardsafetybelt.
Theairbagisnotdeployedwhenthetruckishitfrombehind,fromthesideorifitrolls
over.Forbestprotection,sitinanormal,uprightposition.Alwayswearthesafetybelt.
Foraddedsafety,thevehiclemaybeequippedwithanairbagorSRS(Supplemental
RestraintSystem)asasupplementtothestandardthree-pointanchoredsafetybelt.
TheSRSisdesignedtoreducetheriskofinjurytothedriver’sfaceandupperpartof
thebody.Togetherwiththesafetybelt,theairbaghelpspreventthedriverfrombeing
thrownagainstthesteeringwheel,windshieldorotherhardsurfacesinthecab.
TheV olvoSRSAirbagprovidesincreasedprotectioninfrontalcollisions,wherethe
vehiclecollideswithaxedorheavyobjectwithenoughforcetoactivatethesensors
whichthenactivatetheairbag.Damagetothevehicleisnotalwaysproportionalto
whethertheSRSAirbagdeploysornot.
TheSRSAirbagisnotdesignedtobeactivatedwith:
•Collisionfromthesides
•Collisionfromtherear
•Rollingover
•Head-oncollisionsatlowspeedoragainstsoftobjectssuchasbushes,snow
drifts,etc.

WARNING
Neverattempttodrivewithadeployed
airbag.Withthebaghangingoutofthe
hubofthesteeringwheel,thetruckmay
bemoredifculttosteer.Inaddition,
othersafetysystemsmaybedamaged.
Continuousexposuretothesmokeand
dustcreatedduringthedeploymentof
theairbagcancauseirritationtothe
skinandeyes.
