OperatinginBobtailMode

CAUTION

Whenoperatingbobtail,becertainthat

gladhands,trailerairhoses,electrical

cableandconnectorsareproperly

stowedandsecure.Donotallowthem

toruborchafeonothercomponents.

Dependingoncustomerspecication,sometractorsmaybeequippedwithabobtail

airbrakeproportioningvalvewhichautomaticallyredistributesthebrakingforce

betweenfrontandrearaxleswhennothookeduptoasemitrailer(bobtailoperation).

Whenoperatinginbobtailmode,therearbrakechambersreceivereducedor

proportionalbrakeairpressure.Whenthetractoristowingatrailer,therearbrake

chamberswillreceivefull(normal)brakepressure.Fortractorswithnoproportioning

valve,theABSsystemautomaticallycontrolsbrakepressure.
