6 Brake
Service/parking brake
Change brake jaws/wire rope adapter
When brake jaws are exchanged, the wire rope adapter must always be
exchanged as well.
Preparations
1. Park the machine on firm, level and dry ground.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Lower the loader unit to the ground.
4. Stop the engine.
5. Secure the machine to prevent it from rolling away (for example with
wheel chocks, blocks).
6. Pull off metal sleeve on the Bowden cable 1 a little.
7. Disconnect the connection to the front axle / spring-loaded cylinder 2.
8. Remove the cardan shaft – see “Removing/installing the cardan shaft”
on page 4-19.
9. Unscrew retaining screws and remove the drum.
10.In the event that the brake drum is run in and therefore cannot be
removed, the adjuster must be unlocked and reset. To do this, remove
the plugs from the inspection holes 2.
