Off Hook Hot Line Dialing
For security reasons, IP phones support off hook hot line dialing feature, which allows the phone to first dial out the
pre-configured number when you dial out a call using the account with this feature enabled. The SIP server may then
prompts you to enter an activation code for call service. Only if you enter a valid activation code, the IP phone will use
this account to dial out a call successfully.
Off hook hot line dialing feature is configurable on a per-line basis and depends on support from a SIP server. The
server actions may vary from different servers.
It is also applicable to the IP call and intercom call.
Note
Off hook hot line dialing feature limits the call-out permission of this account and disables the hotline feature. For
example, when the phone goes off-hook using the account with this feature enabled, the configured hotline number will
not be dialed out automatically.
