268 CHAPTER 6: CONFIGURING WIRELESS PARAMETERS
5 In the Name box, type the name of the radio profile (1 to 16 characters,
with no spaces or tabs).
6 To prevent the association of 802.11b clients to 802.11g radios using this
profile, select Exclude 802.11b clients.
Selecting this option prevents associations by 802.11b clients but does
not disable 802.11b protection mode. To guard against interference, an
802.11b/g radio in protection mode sends messages while 802.11g
traffic at higher data rates is being sent, to inform 802.11b devices about
the 802.11g traffic and reserve bandwidth for the traffic. Protection
mode affects overall traffic throughput due to the additional messages
sent by 802.11b/g radios.
7 Do one of the following:
■ To configure 802.11 attributes, click Next and see “To change 802.11
attributes”.
■ To configure other radio profile parameters, click a button at the top
of the wizard.
■ To close the wizard and save the changes, click Finish.
