HOST CONFIGURATION
Sample information can be communicated through a Host computer via
two methods:
•Host Download
Host Order Query
The following options are configured on the ONLINE
CONFIGURATION screen:
Option Description
Protocol Type The types include Offline (default), Type 1, Type 1’, Type
1”, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4, and Type 5.
For information about the Protocol Types, refer
to the AEROSET Host Interface Specifications.
NOTE: When a Host system is not available, the
protocol type should be set to Offline.
Result
Transmission
Mode
Determines when the completed results are sent to the
Host. The options are:
Request: manual transmission of results specified by
the Operator. All results selected are sent, including
reruns, replicates, and results with Result Error Codes.
REQUEST is the default setting.
Valid: validated results only
All: all results are sent as they are completed including
reruns, replicates, and results with Result Error Codes.
Transmit QC
Results
When selected, the QC results are transmitted to the Host.
Use Transmission
Check Digit
When selected, a check digit is accepted with message
transmission to and from the Host to confirm transmission
accuracy. When deselected, only messages are accepted.
Master Control
Time (sec)
A time is defined which is the minimum amount of time
that the System may remain the master during Host
communications. The default is 6 seconds.
Maximum Wait
Time (sec)
A time period is defined which is the maximum amount of
time that the System waits for an expected
communication before generating an error. The default
setting is 6 seconds, with a 0-99 second range. However,
greater than 20 seconds is not recommended due to
negative impact to throughput. If no response is detected
during this period, an error is generated in the Error Log.

computer icon.
Computer icon usually blue
screen with white box.
Can temporarily suspend
communication if you are
connected and are getting
errors.
When you say “OK to
suspend”, computer icon goes
to red screen, black box.
When touching icon in the
suspend mode, prompt says
“OK’ then “Resume”.
