Example calculation for minimal battery capacity
Example 1
AlphaVision ML control panel (133mA) with 1 magnetic contact, 7 detectors (7 * 17mA), and 1 LCD keypad
(15mA): total power consumption is 267mA in idle state. In alarm the additional power consumption is
assumed at 300mA.
International: C20 = 18 * 0.267 + 0.5 *(0.300+0.267) = 4.806 + 0.283 = 5.089Ah battery 7Ah
Dutch: C20 = 12 * 0.267 = 3.204Ah battery 3.2Ah
Example 2
AlphaVision ML control panel (133mA) with 8 detectors (8 * 17mA), 2 LCD keypads (2 * 15mA), 1 Input + 8
o.c. module (58mA) with 4 magnetic contacts and 4 detectors (4 * 17mA) and 1 wireless expansion module
(15mA): total power consumption is 440mA in idle state. In alarm the additional power consumption is
assumed at 300mA.
International: C20 = 18 * 0.440 + 0.5 * (0.300 + 0.440) = 7.92 + 0.37 = 8.29Ah battery 12Ah
Dutch: C20 = 12 * 0.440 =5.28 Ah battery 7Ah
A reed switch does consume any power and wireless devices used in combination with the wireless
expansion module have their own battery supply and there for not present in this calculation.
Example 3
AlphaVision ML control panel (133mA) with 8 detectors (8 * 17mA), 2 LCD keypads (2 * 15mA), 1 Input + 8
o.c. module (58mA) with 4 magnetic contacts and 4 detectors (4 * 17mA) and 1 wireless expansion module
(15mA) and 1 GSM module (30mA): total power consumption is 470mA in idle state. In alarm the additional
power consumption is assumed at 500mA.
International: C20 = 18 * 0.470 + 0.5 * (0.500 + 0.470) = 8.46 + 0.485 = 8.945Ah battery 12Ah
Dutch: C20 = 12 * 0.470 = 5.64 Ah battery 7Ah
A reed switch does consume any power and wireless devices used in combination with the wireless
expansion module have their own battery supply and there for not present in this calculation.
Example 4
I/O modules have their own power supply and a backup battery facility. I/O modules will not affect the
power consumption of the control panel. For all components (for instance Input + 8 o.c. modules and
keypads) that are connected behind an I/O module the same calculation must be used as for the control
panel:
I/O module (74mA) with 8 detectors (8 * 17mA), 1 LCD keypad (15mA), 1 Input + 8 o.c. module (58mA)
including 4 magnetic contacts and 4 detectors (4 * 17mA): total power consumption is 351mA in idle state.
In alarm the additional power consumption is assumed at 300mA.
International: C20 = 18 * 0.351 + 0.5 * (0.300 + 0.351) = 6.318 + 0.325 = 6.643Ah battery 7Ah
Dutch: C20 = 12 * 0.351 = 4.212Ah battery 7Ah
