Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 27
►! From firmware V2.0 and higher all relay and o.c. outputs in case of a tamper alarm will only be
activated when the system is armed. If the system is disarmed only the loudspeaker (LS) output will
be activated !
►! From firmware V3.0 and higher open collector outputs 5 to 8 on the I/O module can also be
activated.
►! From firmware V3.50 and higher the Loudspeaker (LS) output can generate a doorbell signal.
►! From firmware version 3.2 and higher different EOL resistor values can be used on the AlphaVision
ML. The expansion module must be equipped with minimal eprom version 5.5
Wireless expansion module (wireless detectors and keyfobs)
To connect wireless detectors, keypads and keyfob transmitters, the AlphaVision ML can be extended with a
wireless expansion module. The wireless expansion module comes in a small plastic enclosure with a flexible
cable and 4-pin connector and is placed outside the central cabinet. The 4-pin connector of the wireless
expansion module is connected to the white 8-pin (RFR) connector of the AlphaVision ML pcb board. Insert
the 4-pin female connector of the expansion module to the four pins of the RFR connector that are closest
to the LAN connector on the main board. The other four pins are for future use.
Using the wireless expansion module it allows you to connect up to 32 (zones 13 to 44) wireless devices (PIR
detectors, magnetic contacts, transmitters, smoke detectors, etc.). Zones 1-12 can be used only as hard-
wired zones. In the programming (Installer Menu / Learn / Zone enrollment) you can enroll wireless devices
into zones 13 to 44. Furthermore in the programming (Installer Menu / Inputs / Zone xx / Zone charact.) you
need to define all wireless devices as 'wireless' feature.
Besides wireless detectors you can also enroll up to 8 keyfob transmitters (Secure Code) or keypads (MCM-
140) to be able to arm and disarm the AlphaVision ML. The Alpha Vision ML wireless expansion module has
no address setting required and is powered directly from the main board.
Zones 13 to 44 in the AlphaVision ML can be programmed as a wireless zone. Alarm information and status
information such as low battery, tamper and supervision is reported by each individual zone to the control
panel.
For example, when a low battery from a wireless detector occurs, this is immediately reported in the
‘Information Present’ menu including zone number and name.
Tip: the wireless magnetic contact (MCT-302) has an additional auxiliary input. This input can be used to
connect a extra hard-wired magnetic contact or vibration sensor. The auxiliary input transmits its own
separate code to the control panel.
From firmware version 3.2 the ML Alpha Vision supports the AlphaVision Wireless Interface (WI) module on
the RS-485 bus. The WI is recognized as a normal hard-wired expansion module like the Input + 8 oc or I / O
module with power supply on the RS-485 bus but provides additional information such as low battery and
supervision of the connected wireless detectors. The WI can be useful in situations where wireless
components are mounted too far away from the wireless expansion module. Up to 8 wireless (PowerCode)
components can be enrolled into the WI.
►! Wireless zones enrolled into the WI should be programmed as ‘End of Line N.C.’ in the zone
programming of the AlphaVision ML !
