Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 55
A Gas alarm zone is also a technical alarm (24-hour loud) zone and is used for gas detectors. When
reporting to a monitoring station, different SIA or Contact ID codes are used and when reporting to a private
telephone with the SMS text protocol, a Gas alarm will be reported with the text ´Gas alarm´ and the
corresponding zone name. When the AlphaVision ML uses a speech plug-on board, the text message ‘Gas’
and the zone name is heard when reporting to a private telephone.
A Water alarm zone is also a technical alarm (24-hour loud) zone and is used for water detectors. When
reporting to a monitoring station, different SIA or Contact ID codes are used and when reporting to a private
telephone with the SMS text protocol, a Water alarm will be reported with the text ´Water alarm´ and the
corresponding zone name. When the AlphaVision ML uses a speech plug-on board, the text message
‘Water’ and the zone name is heard when reporting to a private telephone.
A Temperature alarm zone is also a technical alarm (24-hour loud) zone and is used for temperature
detectors. When reporting to a monitoring station, different SIA or Contact ID codes are used and when
reporting to a private telephone with the SMS text protocol, a temperature alarm will be reported with the
text ´Temperature alarm´ and the corresponding zone name. When the AlphaVision ML uses a speech plug-
on board, the text message ‘Temperature’ and the zone name is heard when reporting to a private
telephone.
A direct dialer input is a 24-hour quiet zone type and can be used to transmit trouble and alarm messages
from external devices/applications without the need to arm/disarm the system. The AlphaVision ML can be
used as stand-alone dialer with up to 44 inputs. When a direct dialer input is triggered, a message is sent to
the monitoring station or private telephone immediately and when the input restores, a restore message is
send. When reporting to a monitoring station, technical alarm codes are sent and when reporting with SMS
text message protocol, the text ‘Dir.Dialer input’ is included in the message. When the AlphaVision ML uses
a speech plug-on board, the text message ‘trouble’ and the zone name is heard when reporting to a private
telephone.
When a direct dialer input is triggered, the information (i) LED and the text ‘information present’ will not
appear on the displays.
A keyswitch (fixed or latched) input can be used to arm/disarm the AlphaVision ML control panel with an
external key switch or device. Any of the 44 inputs can be programmed as a keyswitch. The keyswitch input
works as a fixed or latched principal, which means that the sections programmed to the zone defined as
keyswitch are armed when the input is activated and disarmed when the zone is deactivated.
A non alarm zone (from v3.60 and higher) is used solely for control purposes and will not cause an alarm
(and reporting). If the input is connected (and programmed)as EOL then a tamper alarm will follow if the
cable is disconnected. It is also possible to program the doorbell function for a non-alarm zone and/or link
an output to follow the non-alarm zone input.
►! Activating a 'No alarm' zone is not stored in the historical overview.
Zone options
For each zone specific zone options can be programmed. The following options are present:
Doorbell Y/N
Bypass Y/N
Zone sections
Inactivity Y/N
Doorbell option
Each zone can also be assigned as a doorbell zone to activate a chime function when the zone is triggered.
The doorbell function only works when the system is partially armed or disarmed. From software V3.00 and
above it is possible to generate a doorbell signal through the loudspeaker (LS) output on the AlphaVision ML
