View zones
When all zones have been triggered, use the View zones menu and the <#/OK> key to scroll through the list
of activated zones. Make sure that all detectors (zones) which have been triggered are shown in the list. To
exit the walktest function, press twice.
►! The RF reception strength of wireless detectors needs to be 20 at least. When the reception strength
reaches below 20, the signal strength is no longer guaranteed and measures needs to be taken to
improve the reception (e.g. replacing the detector or using a repeater)
Field strength explanation
Walktest zone
From firmware V2.01 and above a walktest function for a specific zone has been added. To perform a
walktest of a specific zone, the function ‘Walktest zone’ can be used. Select the ‘Walktest zone’ option and
press the <#/OK> key. In the LCD display the first zone number ‘Zone 01’ is displayed. Type in the desired
zone number (2-digit) or use the and keys to scroll through the zones. When the desired zone
number has been selected press the <#/OK> key, on the top line of the LCD display the zone number will be
displayed and on the bottom line the zone name is displayed.
Also on the top line of the LCD display on the right side the following letters will be displayed to show the
status of the zone:
By now activating the zone or opening the casing the installer can verify if the various statuses are correctly
seen by the AlphaVision ML.
When activating a zone the internal buzzer of the keypad will sound to acknowledge that the zone status
has changed. It is also possible to use the LS output as an acoustic tool during testing. Ensure that the
programming option ‘LS ON WALKTEST’ option is enamble in the SYSTEM programming. When the zone is in
alarm a single tone will be heard via de loudspeaker (LS) output. When the zone is tampered a double tone
will be heard via the loudspeaker (LS) output.
►! When leaving the walktest mode, the fire reset output (when programmed) will be activated to reset
hardwired smoke detectors.
Test LED & LCD
The Test LED & LCD function is used to test the correct functioning of all status LED’s, LCD display and keys.
The option is quite self-explanatory, follow the instructions on the display.
Test outputs
To test the outputs of the AlphaVision ML, use the ‘TEST OUTPUTS’ function. Select the desired output and
press <#/OK> to activate the output. Pressing <#/OK> again will deactivate the output.
►! When the AlphaVision ML is expanded with hardwired expansion modules, outputs 1 to 4 and the
