loudspeaker (LS) (only applicable for I/O module) on these expansion modules will also be activated.
Reset user code
When the supervisor usercode (90) is lost or forgotten, the installation company can use this function to
reset the supervisor usercode back to the factory default code 445566. All other codes remain unchanged.
Default factory settings
To reset the AlphaVision ML to default factory settings, use this function. When executed, all programming
settings are erased and reset to factory default settings.
IP connection
The supervisor has the ability to initiate the IP connection between the AlphaVision ML control panel and
the laptop / computer of the installer on which the AlphaTool software is installed. Using this option offers
remote access without the need for changing firewall settings and port forwarding in the modem/router of
the end-user
CONNECTING A COMPUTER
When the AlphaVision ML needs to be programmed with a laptop/computer using the AlphaTool software,
several options are possible to connect: the easiest way is to connect the laptop/computer to the same
internal IP (LAN) network as the AlphaVision ML and use the Search function in the AlphaTool software to
locate the control panel’s IP address and then connect. It is also possible to connect a laptop/computer
directly with a cross-over network cable between the LAN connection of the AlphaVision ML and
laptop/computer.
It is also possible to connect a laptop/computer to the AlphaVision ML using a RS-232 programming cable
(part nr. 003834). When the RS-232 cable is used, the cable must be connected, the AlphaTool software
should be started and press ‘Connect’. Now the control panel needs to be rebooted (use the reset pins on
the PCB), after startup the AlphaVision ML will detect the connected computer on the RS-232 port and
establish the connection.
Transmit testmessage (V2.00 and higher)
For testing purposes the installer can manually force the AlphaVision ML to transmit a testmessage to the
monitoring station. All dialers programmed for central stration reporting will transmit a test message.
Test Mode (V3.20 and higher)
From firmware version 3.20 a ‘Test Mode’ was added. If the AlphaVision ML is put into the 'Test Mode' all
outputs used for activating sirens and flashlights are disabled. Also the transmission of alarms to the
monitoring station and private parties is disabled. This function is extremely handy for testing the full
operation of the system when staff or house members are still present. In the submenu 'Test Mode' a 2-
digit number can be entered, this number represents the amount of time blocks of 15 minutes that the
system is in the Test Mode. The maximum amount of time blocks is 99 x 15min = 24.75 hours. From
firmware version 3.30 the time blocks of 15 minutes has been changed to hours, the maximum is 99 hours.
Once the AlphaVision ML is in the Test Mode the following text '!! TEST MODE !! will appear on the top line
of the LCD display.
