GPRS always active
The GPRS plug-on module is often used as backup for the primary, hardwired LAN connection. When this is
the case, this option programs whether or not the GPRS module is already logged into the provider’s
network. It depends on the provider whether or not this causes additional costs. When the provider only
charges for data transmissions, setting this option to YES is highly recommended. When the GPRS module is
already logged into the network, it will take considerably less time to transfer the message to the
monitoring station.
Standard Dialer D1 settings
In the submenu ‘Standard D1’ al settings can be programmed for the primary IP dialer that’s transmits to a
monitoring station. For the standard dialer you can choose between LAN (Ethernet) communication of GPRS
(if a GSM plug-on board is present). The following programming options can be set:
Standard D1 active
Monitoring station IP-address
Monitoring station port number
Monitoring station account number
IP polling interval
Test report interval
Communication method
Standard D1 active
This option determines whether the standard dialer is used (active).
Monitoring station IP address
This settings is used for programming the IP address of the IP receiver card at the monitoring station. The
AlphaVision ML uses the SIA-HS IP (data) protocol and is received on an RC-4001 IP receiver. The correct IP
address can be obtained from the monitoring station.
Monitoring station port number
This option programs the port number of the IP receiver card at the monitoring station. The correct port
number can be obtained from the monitoring station.
Monitoring station account number
The account number is a 4 digit number given by the monitoring station, together with an IP address and
port number, used for customer identification.
Polling interval
At Polling interval the desired polling time is entered in seconds. The polling interval should meet the local
security requirements within the range of the monitoring station. The correct polling interval time can be
obtained from the monitoring station.
Test report interval
At Test report interval the interval time in hours is programmed. The IP dialer will automatically send a test
report each interval. Default setting is every 24 hours.
Communication method
This option determines via which transmission channel (LAN or GPRS) the standard dialer D1 will transmit its
messages to the monitoring station.
