Resetting hard-wired fire detectors
When using hard-wired fire detectors it is necessary to temporarily disconnect the power from the fire
detector after a fire alarm. By using relay 1 or 2 or open collector output 3 or 4 (including an external relay
module), the power of all fire detectors can be temporarily disconnected if output type ‘Fire reset’ is
programmed for this output.
A fire zone is considered as a 24-hour zone and is always active regardless of whether the system is armed
or disarmed. To stop the siren after a fire alarm the user needs to perform a disarming function regardless
of whether the system is armed or not. Furthermore the fire detectors need to be reset, this can be done by
accessing the ‘Information present’ menu and reading and erasing the message. Once the message is
erased, the power supply (through the fire reset output) of the fire detectors is automatically disconnected
for approximately 5 seconds. During the 5 second disconnection all zones programmed as 'fire' will be
ignored in order to avoid an instant tamper alarm. To access the Information present menu, see chapter
“Information present”.
►! When reading and erasing a fire alarm in the ‘Information present’ menu or when leaving the
walktest function the fire reset output will automatically be activated.
Activate trigger output via a PIN-code, keyfob or (mobile) phone
Activating via a PIN-code
From V2.0 software and higher the ‘TRIGGER OUTPUT’ can also be activated by entering a level 1 PIN-code
on the keypad. Set the desired output (output 1-8) to "TRIGGER OUTPUT"
Activating via a Keyfob
Set the desired output (output 1 to 8) to "TRIGGER OUTPUT" to be able to activate this output via the AUX
(*) button of a MCT-234 keyfob. Also in the installer submenu "SYSTEM OPTIONS" the programming option
"AUX BUTTON" must be set to "OUTPUT". The AUX button option will now apply for all keyfob transmitters!.
Activating via a (mobile) phone
It is also possible to activate an output remotely via a fixed or mobile phone. The DTMF keys <7> and <8>
are used on the (mobile) phone to activate/deactivate the output. When using this option the AlphaVision
ML must be equipped with a speech plug-on board (art.code 004162).
The activation time of the trigger output "depends on the time programmed in the submenu 'Timers'. There
are two options available:
