Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 92
SMTP authentication
Some SMTP servers require authentication for sending an e-mail, if this is the case set this option to ON and
then programming the appropriate username and password in the programming options.
Generic Interface (V3.40 and higher)
From software V3.40 and above a generic interface has been added to the Alpha Vision ML. The generic
interface is an IP protocol that can be used to integrate external applications such as iProtect and Fore!
Security management platforms, but it can also be used to integrate other external devices such as cameras,
home automation devices. Alphatronics can provide installers with an SDK/API which explains how
integration with external equipment can be done. The programming options GI ACTIVE, GI PORT, GI KEY and
GI REFRESH TIME are all related to the generic interface.
DYNDNS (V3.60 and higher)
For the DYNDNS function besides the IP address (see DNS settings above), a number of general settings
must be programmed. These include the DNS provider, DNS hostname, DNS user and DNS password.
GPRS backup transmission
From software V2.0 and above there are changes in the way the Dialer-2 GPRS channel works when
reporting to a monitoring station. If one of the programming options: Monitoring station IP-address,
Monitoring station port number, or Monitoring station account number are different from the same
programming options at Dialer 1 LAN settings then the GPRS channel will actively poll to the monitoring
station. If Dialer 2 GPRS channel is used as a backup connection of Dialer 1 LAN channel you are strongly
advised to report to a separate account number to the monitoring station.
REMOTE SERVICE
The AlphaVision ML can be (remotely) connected to a computer/laptop with the AlphaTool software. This
allows the installer to easily program the AlphaVision ML control panel and to gain remote access to the
control panel to view log events and view/modify programming. The AlphaVision ML can transmit
information via different methods (IP, GPRS, PSTN and GSM), remote service only applies for IP, PSTN and
GSM (not GPRS !). When connecting via PSTN or GSM the laptop/computer must have a (built-in) modem.
In the default programming Remote service is enabled. To disable the remote service regardless of the
software setting, dipswitch 3 can de set to OFF.
! For the end-user a AlphaTool Lite version is available !
! AlphaTool V3.5.1 and above provides a real-time diagnose option to test the AV-ML !
Remote service through the GSM plug-on board
When the AlphaVision ML is only equipped with a GSM plug-on board and the installation company wants
to remote service through the GSM net (not GPRS !), the data channel (D) of the SIM card needs to be
activated. Most SIM card are capable of using the data channel but these are not always activated. The data
channel uses a separate telephone number, which needs to be used in the AlphaTool software. Consult the
GSM provider to find out whether or not the D channel is active and what the specific telephone number is.
Within the remote service menu the following submenu’s are available:
VIA PSTN/GSM
Via IP (LAN)
