Zone name
For each zone, a zone name (text) needs to be defined. The AlphaVision ML offers a standard library of 27
pre-defined zone names which can be used for one or more zones. Next to standard zone names it is also
possible to program unique zone names (with a unique speech text if required) to each of the 100 zones.
The programmable names are shown in the display as ‘Free text 1 to 100’. These names can be changed as
desired (up to 16 characters) and are shown on the display and used when reporting to a monitoring station
or private telephone via SMS text message. When the AlphaVision ML is expanded with a speech plug-on
board, zone names are used for vocal support and for reporting to private telephones with the speech
protocol. Different zone names need to be recorded separately.
Programming of the free text names is done with the navigator keys. First select the desired free zone name
1 to 100 and press <OK>. The cursor will now appear under the first character ‘F’. Use the and keys
to scroll to the correct character (A-Z and 0-9) and press to move the cursor to the next character and
press to return to the previous character. When done, press <OK> to save.

Zone type
Each zone needs to be programmed as a specific zone type. The following zone types are available:
 Instant
 Delayed 1 to 4 (can be opened during arming delay)
 Delayed 5 (must be closed during arming delay)
 Emergency exit (= 24-hour loud zone type, but when the section is disarmed, triggering this zone
only activates the alarm outputs and not the dialer)
 24-hour silent
 24-hour loud
 Fire (= 24-hour zone type, activates a slow whoop signal on the speaker outputs of the control panel
and the I/O modules)
 Social Alarm (= always a 24-hour type, silent)
 Hold-up (=always a 24-hour type, silent)
 Tamper (=always a 24-hour type, loud)
 Follower (= during entry/exit delays a delayed zone, otherwise an instant type zone)
 Follower Delayed (A delayed zone during Partial arming, a Follower zone type during Total arming)
 Technical alarm (=always a 24-hour type, silent)
 Gas alarm (=always a 24-hour type, loud)
 Water alarm (=always a 24-hour type, loud)
 Temperature alarm (=always a 24-hour type, loud)
 Direct dialer input (=always a 24-hour type, silent)
 Keyswitch (= latch type input, arms or disarms the programmed sections)
