Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 54
An Instant zone has no entry or exit delay and will, if the system is armed, cause an alarm as soon as the
detector is triggered.
A delayed zone has a entry and exit delay. Up to 5 separate delay times can be programmed if desired.
Zones programmed as delayed 1-4 can be open during the exit delay, zones programmed as delayed 5 need
to be closed during the exit delay!
An Emergency Exit zone is a zone type used for emergency doors. An emergency exit zone is a 24-hour loud
zone type and will activate the outputs programmed as alarm when the system is disarmed. When the
system is armed, this zone type will activate the alarm outputs and also report the alarm to the monitoring
station.
A 24-hour zone is always triggered, regardless if the control panel is armed or not. The AlphaVision ML
control panel has a 24H silent and a 24H loud zone type. Only with the 24H loud zone type the outputs
programmed to alarm will be activated. In both cases an alarm will be reported directly to the monitoring
station or to the programmed private telephone number.
A fire zone is also a 24-hour type zone and is used for wired or wireless smoke and fire detectors. When a
fire zone is triggered, a slow whoop siren will be sounded from the speaker (LS) output of the control panel
and all I/O modules with power supply (art.nr. 004312) that are connected. All other outputs (AL1, AL2, OC3
and OC4) programmed as ‘alarm’ will also be activated, but these will not make a difference in sound
between a fire or any of the other alarm types.
A social alarm zone is a 24-hour silent type zone and is used when users have a panic button for social
alarming. Triggering this alarm will not activate the outputs but will send out an alarm message to the
monitoring station and/or private telephone. When desired, the control panel can provide a spoken
confirmation message. For this, the AlphaVision ML needs to be expanded with a speech plug-on board, a
keypad with integrated speakers, a speakerphone or an external speaker. Each time the panic button is
pressed, an audible message is heard.
A hold-up zone is also a 24-hour silent zone and can be used for hold-up push buttons. The alarm will be
reported to the monitoring station or private telephone, but no further indications on the display or outputs
will be shown or heard.
►! After causing a hold-up alarm when the system is disarmed, the system can only be armed if the
message is read and cleared in the Information present menu.
A tamper zone is also a 24-hour zone and is used in tamper situations, e.g. when a siren of flashlight is
tampered with.
A follower zone will respond as an instant or as a delayed zone, depending on whether an entry delay of the
same section is triggered or not. When the entry delay time is triggered, a follower zone will function like a
delayed zone (thus not causing a direct alarm when triggered). When the entry delay is not triggered, the
zone will function like a direct zone and cause an alarm as soon the zone is triggered.
A follower delayed zone is equal to a regular follower zone, with the exception that a follower delayed zone
functions as a normal delayed zone when the control panel is armed in the Partial mode. The system must
be armed with the Partial key and the zone needs to be assigned to a section which is armed during the
partial arming. The exit and entry delay times used are entry and exit delay 1.
When the system is armed totally the follower delayed zone will react as a normal follower zone.
A technical alarm zone is also a 24-hour silent zone and is used for reporting technical alarms. When
reporting to a private telephone with the SMS text protocol, alarms with this zone type will be reported
with the text ´technical alarm´. When the AlphaVision ML uses a speech plug-on board, the text message
‘Trouble’ is heard when reporting to a private telephone.
