other providers, a different number might be required, which can be obtained from the local provider. This
option may not be supported in all countries for transmitting via a fixed PSTN line.
Roaming allowed
When required, roaming can turned on. Default setting is OFF. With some GSM/GPRS providers, roaming is
required because the provider does not have its own GSM infrastructure but uses the infrastructure of other
providers. Turning roaming on also offers certain risks. In border areas, the system might log into foreign
networks, which might cause high telephone costs. Do not forget to point this out to your customer! For
these types of cases, we advise the use of a provider which does not require roaming.
Acceptance mode
This option determines whether the control panel requires one (single) confirmation of a private telephone
or requires a confirmation of all programmed telephone numbers. Alarm reporting with a SMS protocol are
automatically confirmed by the SMS service centre. On a fixed or GSM phone key <9> is used to confirm an
alarm message.
GSM/GPRS Fault codes (V2.00 and higher)
GSM/GPRS error codes are written into the historical log of the AlphaVision ML control panel if a fault
occurs. The intention of these error codes is a tool to help the installer better understand why the GSM or
GPRS connection and does not function properly.

IP/GPRS REPORTING
The AlphaVision ML control panel has an integrated IP dialer for reporting alarms to a central station over a
LAN (internet) connection. The AlphaVision ML can also be expanded with a GPRS module for reporting to a
monitoring station over the GPRS net. From software V2.03 significant changes were made to the IP/GPRS
dialer configuration. Both the IP and GPRS dialer can now be programmed as primary or backup dialer and
an extra protocol (SEC-IP) was introduced. Both the IP and the GPRS dialer can only transmit alarm
messages to a monitoring station.
