Arming- and disarming via the external Proximity Reader
Arming and disarming the system with a proximity tag using an external proximity reader is only possible
with a user code level 4. If the user presents the proximity tag to the proximity reader the section (s) for
which he/she is authorized will be armed or disarmed and furthermore the open collector (o.c.) output
(blue wire) of the proximity reader is activated for 3 seconds to open the door.
The external proximity reader is equipped with a 2-colour LED that serves as an optical aid during arming
and disarming the AlphaVision ML system.
The following options are present:
Idle state : LED lights up red
Non authorized TAG : LED flashes red (approx. 3 sec.) and then returns to idle state
Arming with valid TAG : LED flashes green (approx. 3 sec.) and then returns to idle state
Disarming with valid TAG : LED lights up green (approx. 3 sec.) and then returns to idle state
Cannot arm and disarm (open zone) : LED flashes red slowly (approx. 5 sec.) and then returns to idle
state
Communication fault : LED flashes alternatively red and green
Access control via the external Proximity Reader
The external proximity reader can also be used for simple access control. The external proximity reader
features an open collector (OC) output (blue wire) that is activated for 3 seconds when presenting a valid
proximity tag (user code) with level 4. For Proximity tag’s that have a lower level, the following guidelines
apply:
When presenting a proximity tag (user code) with level 1 the system will first check to see if the section (s)
that are associated to this proximity tag are disarmed. If the section (s) are disarmed then the open collector
output of the proximity reader will be activated for 3 seconds. This allows easy access control for staff if the
security system is disarmed. Proximity tags with Level 1 cannot arm or disarm the system.
Proximity tag’s with level 2 do not work on the external proximity reader and are only used as PIN-code to
arm the system.
When presenting a proximity tag (user code) with level 3, 5 or 7 the system will first check to see if the
section (s) that are associated to this proximity tag are armed or disarmed. Following this the system will
check to see if the proximity tag is authorized for the section (s). If this is the case the open collector output
of the proximity reader will be activated for 3 seconds. All section (s) still armed need to be disarmed via de
LCD/POX keypad inside the premises.
