Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 87
General LAN settings
The submenu General LAN settings allow for programming of several IP options for the integrated IP dialer.
The following options can be programmed:
Own IP-address
Own MAC-address
Subnetmask
IP Gateway
Portnumber
Messages
IP configuration
Own IP-address
When the control panel IP setting is set to Static, this option is used for programming an IP address. Default
setting is DHCP, so the AlphaVision ML gets its IP address automatically from the DHCP server in the
modem/router.
MAC-address
The MAC address is a unique address, given to every IP network component worldwide and consisting of 12
hexadecimal characters. Programmable characters are digits 0 to 9 and letters A to H. The AlphaVision ML is
supplied with a unique MAC address. The MAC address used in the AlphaVision ML consists of a fixed part
(manufacturer code): 94:31:9B and an variable part. The variable part can be found on a sticker placed on
the control panel’s PCB. It is highly recommended to not change these last 6 characters, but leave them
corresponding to the characters mentioned on the sticker.
Subnetmask
When the IP setting of the AlphaVision ML is set to DHCP, the subnetmask is provided by the
modem/router. If the control panel is set to static IP address, the subnetmask is automatically set to
255.255.255.0. If required, the subnetmask can be changed (consult with IT department of the customer).
Gateway IP-address
When the IP setting of the AlphaVision ML is set to DHCP, the Gateway IP address is provided by the
router/DHCP server. If the control panel is set to static IP address, the Gateway IP address needs to be
programmed manually.
Local port number
The local port number can be programmed by choice. This port number is used to transmit messages from
the monitoring station back to the AlphaVision ML IP dialer. By default the port is set to 8000, another port
number can also be selected. When problems with transmitting messages occur, the modem/router at the
customer site should be programmed to allow incoming UDP messages on port 8000 (ask the customers
network manager if required). In most cases, no further adjustments need to be made.
Messages
This menu option allows for programming which types of messages are reported to the central station. The
messages are divided in three categories:
Alarm messages and social alarms (ALARMS)
Alerts and system messages (ALERTS)
Arming/ disarming messages (OPEN/CLOSE)
