Installer manual AlphaVision ML Rev. 3.60 01-01-2015 49
Bypassing
Each zone can be programmed whether it may be bypassed (Inputs/Zone options/Bypass) or not.
Furthermore, in the system programming (System/Bypass) a general setting must enabled to make it
possible for users to (temporarily) bypass zones during arming. This is only rarely necessary, for instance
when a detector malfunctions or regularly gives false alarms. In such a case, the security system cannot be
armed. To be able to arm the system this zone can temporarily be bypassed.
If during arming a zone type ‘Delayed 5’, Direct' or '24-hour' is open the message "CANNOT ARM. OPEN
ZONES". Depending on the setting (System/Bypass) the AlphaVision ML will now automatically jump to the
"Open Zone" menu and display the first open zone. Using the button all open zones can be displayed.
During arming, only "open zones" that are associated with the relevant section (s) that is being armed will
be displayed. For example if Section 1 is being armed then the "open areas" from Section 2 will not be
shown because they do not affect the arming procedure.
Once the last open zone is shown then the message "EXIT <*>, BYPASS <#>" will be displayed. Now press the
<*> button to abort the arming process or press the <#/OK> button (if authorized in the programming) to
arm the system with bypassed zones. All open zones will now automatically be bypassed (disabled). Zones
that are bypassed cannot cause an alarm. Bypassing zone is only valid for one arming session. Once the
system is disarmed the bypassing will be deleted.
From firmware V3.20 and above it is possible to block (bypass) zones in advance before arming the system.
For detailed explanation regarding this function refer to the user manual.
Information present
When the red Information LED (i) flashes and the message “information present” appears in the display, a
trouble or alarm event has occurred. Press to read the information. The system will now ask for a valid
code; user codes with level 3, 5 and 7 and the installation code can be used to view and delete the
message(s) in the information menu.
When the user code is entered, the display will show the first message. When the control panel is expanded
with a speech module and a keypad with integrated speakers, an external speaker 4-8 ohm or a
speakerphone the system will also provide vocal assistance. Use the to show any next messages. When
the last message has been shown, the display will show “Del. Information ? <OK>. Press <#/OK> to erase the
information. The Information LED (i) will extinguish and the message “information present” will no longer
appear on the display.
! To leave the “Information present” menu without deleting the messages, press the <*> key.
! If the screensaver option is enabled the red Information LED (i) will not be illuminated immediately.
Only after entering a valid user code the (i) led will be visible and the information can be viewed and
erased via the Information present menu.
When a system error has occurred, for example a power failure, the error must be solved before the
information can be read and deleted. If the error has not been solved, a new Information present’ message
will appear.
When the AlphaVision ML is expanded with an AlphaVision I/O module with power supply (art.nr. 004312)
and a power failure or low battery event occurs for the AlphaVision I/O module the information present
message must be read and deleted twice. After the first time, the control panel will send a battery test
command over the RS-485 bus to the I/O module. This takes about 10 seconds, after which the information
message is displayed for the second time. When the battery of the I/O module functions correctly, the
second message can be viewed and erased and will not re-appear. When the battery does not function
correctly, the message will return until the trouble is solved.
