Chapter 2 Catalyst 3550 Switch Cisco IOS Commands
interface port-channel
If you do not assign a static MAC address on the port-channel interface, a MAC address is
automatically assigned. If you assign a static MAC address and then later remove it, the MAC
address is automatically assigned.
Before enabling IEEE 802.1x authentication on a port, you must first remove it from the
EtherChannel. If you try to enable IEEE 802.1x authentication on an EtherChannel or on an active
port in an EtherChannel, an error message appears, and IEEE 802.1x authentication is not enabled.
Examples This example shows how to create a port-channel interface with a port channel number of 5:
Switch(config)# interface port-channel 5
You can verify your setting by entering the show running-config privileged EXEC or show
etherchannel channel-group-number detail privileged EXEC command.
