1.4 Personal safety
1.4.1 Precautions for safe installation and operation
The following instructions must be observed by the user at any time:
• Do only install or operate this equipment if you are properly trained and qualified.
• Ensure that the shipping container does not show evidence of damage. If damage
is evident, follow your company’s procedure for damage claims.
WARNING
A damaged RF generator may cause health hazards!
For details, see section 1.3 “Hazards“.
Safety note 7: Warning - hazards
• Do not use the front panel handles for lifting or carrying the generator. The
handles are provided for final adjustment in a rack.
• Verify that input line voltage and current capacity are within specifications before
turning on the power supplies.
• Use proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions.
• Before making any other connection to this device, ensure proper grounding.
Connect the earth terminal to a local earth with a copper wire that is sized
according to the applicable requirements.
• Only water-cooled generators: Ensure that the water-cooling flow is enabled and
that there are no fluid leaks or any leaks that enter the casing.
• Only air-cooled generators: Ensure that there is sufficient air flow possible to and
from the generator. Fans and vent holes must not be covered by adjacent
surfaces.
• Install and operate this device in an overvoltage category II installation only.
• Install and operate this device only in a pollution degree 2 or better environment,
which means an indoor location such as a computer room, office, or factory floor
where only non-conductive pollution occurs during operation. Occasionally,
condensation may create temporary conductivity when the device is not
operating. However, the device must not be operated wet.
