4.6.2 Optional: Using a solenoid valve
• The solenoid valve should be placed before the “Water In” connection.
• It should be designed to ensure sufficient flow.
• For electrical control of the valve, the 5-pin M8 “DC-Supply” connector on the
back of the generator can be used. 24 V
DC
/0.6 A are available when the generator
is switched on.
• If the solenoid valve is controlled from an external power source, it must be
ensured that it releases the water flow at the latest when the generator is
switched on.
4.6.3 Disconnecting cooling water connections
To disconnect the cooling water connections, proceed as follows:
Close the stop valve for the water inlet (Water In) and then the one for the water
outlet (Water Out).
Loosen the hose clamps and pull off the hoses. Catch the escaping water, e. g. in a
shallow bowl.
Empty the generator completely of water. If necessary, use compressed air with a
maximum pressure of 0.6 MPa).
NOTICE
Remaining water expands when it freezes and can damage the
cooling elements inside the generator. This can happen especially
during transport by air at high altitudes.
Safety note 37: Notice - remaining water
Carefully unscrew the NPT fittings and clean the internal threads of the generator
connections to remove any remaining Teflon® tape.
NOTICE
Make sure that no Teflon® tape residues get inside the cooling
lines of the generator.
