3 Pre-installation
3.1 Lifting of the unit
The weight is specified in section 3.2.1. When no crane is used, two persons are required to
lift the unit for installation.
Unless a crane is used, the maximum installation height is 175 cm / 68.9 in. The unit may
be installed above 175 cm / 68.9 in height through the use of a suitable fixed crane that is
certified by local safety engineers.
The unit must also be installed in such a way, that the main On/Off switch at the back
panels of the generators (see Figure 9, No. 2 and Figure 10, No. 1) is located no higher
from floor than 164 cm / 64.6 inch. Hardhat (PPE) must be used in that case. See also
section 1.3.4. Apply these same cautions for de-installation, see section 4.8.
CAUTION
Warning of head bump hazards due to suspended loads!
Hardhat (PPE) must be used!
Safety note 17: Caution - PPE
WARNING
Warning of seismic hazards!
These are hazards associated with potential earthquakes in a particular
area. In these areas, attention must be paid to national institutions that
provide earthquake precaution using seismometers/seismographs.
Special seismic hazard maps show the relative hazards in different areas.
These maps are used for mitigation and emergency response.
Safety note 18: Warning - seismic hazards
The unit must be secured for seismic safety. It is the responsibility of the user to thus
secure it in a rack or other stationary supporting structure. In the case of a seismic event,
e. g. an earthquake, it must be ensured that the unit does not fall off the rack, cause
damage or cause harm to persons.
Fans on the unit, if present, must not be blocked.
