Condition Cause Checkpoint Solution
Symptom: The printer feeds paper abnormally.
PF motor does not
operate normally.
Sub gate array IC6
is defective.
Check the waveform for one of
the following signals output from
IC17:
PFA0/1 (Pin1/2)
PFB0/1 (Pin 23/24)
Pin 1 on the IC17
Pin 6 on the IC 17
Waveform 10
Replace the main
board.
CPU is defective.

Replace the main
board.
IC17 is defective. Check the waveforms for one of
the following signals output from
IC17:
PFA0/1 (Pin 2/1)
PFB0/1 (Pin 23/24)
(Refer to the waveform 10.)
Replace the main
board.
PF motor is
defective.
Check if the resistance of the
motor coil is as follows;
10Ω ± 10 % at 25 °C
(Refer to Table 5-1.)
Replace the PF motor.
