Periodic Check Items and Procedures
Perform the periodic check according to the following list.
The periodic check should be performed once a year.
The "Periodic Check List" is on the last page of this manual.
If the equipment fails any check item on the periodic check list, the general judgment will be "Fail". Repair the
equipment so that it passes all the check items.
Use the equipment only if the judgments for all the items are "OK".
Check all cables, equipments, accessories, earth impedance, leakage current, and accuracy.
Before the check procedure, back up the setup data and patient data on a CF card.
Some models of commercially available bench top functional testers and patient simulators
can be used to verify the proper functionality of SpO
2
monitoring system, sensors, cables,
but they are incapable of properly evaluating the SpO
2
measurement accuracy. SpO
2
measurement accuracy can only be evaluated by comparing measurement data with SaO
2
measurements obtained from simultaneously sampled arterial blood using a laboratory Co-
oximeter.
