3.3 Installation procedure and system start-up
Table 3: Installation procedure
Remove rear covers and connect ac input and output power cables to terminals according to markings as shown
in this User Guide and according to connection schematic.
Verify correct phase sequence
between board and UPS.
2.
Connect neutral and ground lines to busses according to markings as shown in this User Guide manual and
according to connection schematic. Verify secure connections
.
3.
Connect parallel, communication, and current sharing cables as shown in the connection schematic Figure 8 on
page 15.
4.
Connect the DC power cables of the battery cabinets to the UPS terminals according to markings as shown in
Figure 7 through Figure 9 on pages 14 through 17. Connect neutral and ground lines to busses as above.
Verify correct polarity of the connections (+ / N / -)
Between the Battery Cabinets C.B.s / Terminals and the UPS
terminals. Auxiliary contacts of Battery C.B.s are connected to UPS Controller inputs “Bat CB” and “Com” as
marked, and as shown in Figure 11 and Figure 12 on pages 20 and 21.
5.
An external n-pole / N.C. EPO switch may be connected according to connection schematic. EPO disconnection
of parallel units MUST BE SIMULTANEOUS! EPO wiring and switch rating must be
5A / 230 Vac.
6.
Before connecting power to each system verify again that all connections are secure and are according to
instructions and schematics.
7.
Follow the instructions in section 3.5 "First-time Startup" on page 24 for each UPS unit separately. Verify that the
output switches on the other units are disconnected.
8.
Before connecting outputs in parallel: VERIFY PHASES ALIGNMENT BETWEEN SYSTEMS by measuring
Voltages between same phases of each UPS unit (R1-R2, S1-S2, T1-T2) : Results must be less than 5V to
show alignment.
This check must be performed twice: when the output is connected to the inverter, and when the output is
connected to bypass.
9.
To connect three units in parallel, see “Connecting multiple
units in parallel”, starting page 28.
