8.3 Extraction of the suspended solids
The solid parts produced by the abrasive and the material cut residue must be removed from the
basin and sent to the recycling unit, which holds back the solid residue only and drains the water
into the basin below. With the aid of a pneumatic pump, the water filtered by the drainage bag is
then sent to the machining basin (P1002).
To replace the bag, just close the bypass valve to interrupt the flow.
For the disposal of products used during maintenance, comply with the local and
national standards currently in force.
It is advisable to keep the system activated in a constant manner, to increase performance
levels and safeguard moving parts.
Refer to the recirculation system diagram on page 123.
Characteristics of the treated water
The water leaving the system (separated from solid suspended particles over 75 microns) is
re-used.
To avoid an excessively high level of water generated by the cutting jet (see 12.5 “Water
consumption”), the machining basin is fitted with a drainage point.
The excess water is channelled into a decantation basin which, in turn, is fitted with a
drainage point.
The excess water that flows out of the machining basin contains a minimal percentage of
solid parts that are held back in the decantation basin.
