10 Carrying out machining operations
This chapter describes the methods and procedures for carrying out the machining operations for
which this machine is built. All the information contained in this chapter is based on the assumption
that the operator has started up and prepared the machine correctly, and knows how to use the
numerical control software.
For a description of the buttons or selectors mentioned in this chapter, please refer to chapter 5
“Commands and indicator devices”.
10.1 Warnings relating to machining operations
Before starting the machining operation:
Check the water and pneumatic circuit supplies are enabled, and that the water in the machine
basin is at a good level.
During the machining operation:
Set the appropriate feed speed.
Check the condition of the work table, replacing any damaged supports.
Remove the machining waste from the work table supports (sheets and/or grilles) and from the
collection grilles below.
Inspect the bottom of the basin to check the recirculation system is working well.
In the event of a power cut, an emergency stop, or sudden stoppage of the machining
operation, wait 5/6 minutes before approaching the electronic equipment to let the condensers
discharge any residual energy.
For routine maintenance operations, refer to chapter 11 “Routine and special maintenance”.
