13.3 Unloading the machine
13.3.1 Responsibility for machine unloading and positioning
Manufacturer's responsibilities
The manufacturer must unload the machine in the area agreed with the buyer, in a place suitable
for goods unloading, without passing through areas with people or goods belonging to the buyer.
Buyer's responsibilities
The buyer must move the machine inside his plant, with his own or rented transport and lifting
means.
Once the machine is positioned in the place where it will operate, the manufacturer's technician
will carry out the installation and start-up operations.
13.3.2 Lifting safety
All the slings must comply with Presidential Decree 459/96, which implements directives
2006/42/EC.
The tie-rods and lifting slings or chains must bear a visible label and be free of any
tears and/or breakages. NEVER exceed the maximum working load
.
Recommendations for use
Do not use slings for loads heavier than their lifting capacity.
When using multi-arm slings, take into account the variation of capacity according to the
vertex angle variation.
Do not use the sling with a vertex difference greater than 120°: beyond this limit, the capacity
varies greatly with even minor variations of the angle.
Always check the state of the slings before lifting.
Never use damaged slings; check the state of the bands before using them.
Always protect the ropes that are in contact with sharp edges.
Never use the slings near sleeves, splice, crimping terminals.
When using choke hitches, check the angle between the ropes is no greater than 120°.
Avoid crushing the slings under the load; interpose proper thickness spacers between the load
and the support panel.
Do not remove the sling from under a load if the load is still resting on it.
