9.2 Resetting the machine axes
It is possible to perform an automatic reset of all the axes or, alternatively, to reset one axis at a
time.
To reset the machine axes, refer to the procedure described in the User Interface Manual.
Before switching on the motors, the computer makes a check: if one motor is not working,
neither of them will be powered.
For further information, refer to the User Interface Manual.
9.3 Stopping the machine functions
Stopping the program: when a program is being executed, there are two types of stop:
when the machine terminates the program's machining cycle and stops in “park” mode while
waiting for a new program to be launched.
In this phase, the operator removes the worked piece and positions the new one.
During the machining operation, the operator can press the Stop button and put the
machine "on hold". In this case, the axes stop in the exact position they are in.
The machine stops, the motors are powered, and the program is suspended while the
machine waits for another command. There are two possibilities:
press Start to restart the machine. It will resume the machining operation from the
suspended point, and complete it (the machine has remained in the exact position it was in
when the Stop command was given).
press Reset to leave the machine idle and interrupt the current program. If you
want to use the same program again, you will have to restart it from the beginning.
Emergency stop: this type of stop is made in situations of danger or whenever it is necessary to
immediately stop the functioning of the machine. To make this kind of stop, press the nearest
emergency button. See paragraph 2.9 “Safety devices”.
If the emergency button is pressed during machine operation, the power supply to the
auxiliary elements is disconnected, the cycle enablings are blocked, the start-up of any
connected devices is blocked, and, above all, the power supply to the drives is
disconnected: the axes and other moving machine parts are stopped with the maximum
braking current. The machine is stopped and quickly goes into safety mode.
All the emergency stop devices on the machine must be checked at regular intervals to
guarantee their efficiency.
The operator must check there are no people or objects in the working area before
starting up any machine function.
