11 Routine and special maintenance
Introduction
This chapter contains information that is essential to maintain the machine in perfect working
order.
During maintenance operations, the machine must be OFF. Disconnect the electrical
and pneumatic supplies via the locked devices, and remove the keys to prevent any
enabling by third parties. Refer to the specific instructions in paragraph 2.9 “Safety
devices”.
Clean the machine periodically; this is essential in order to avoid any
damage to it. If the machine is not cleaned, and this fact hinders the
movement of the parts, the warranty may not cover any necessary
repairs.
For the disposal of products used during maintenance, comply with the local and
national standards in force.
Characteristics of the cutting water
To ensure the UHP intensifier works well, and to keep its components in good repair, the water
must display the characteristics indicated below.
Physical qualities:
General quality of the water complying with requisites of ÖNORM M 6250.
pH 7 - 8.5
Total of Ca2+ and Mg2+ (overall hardness) = max. 1.78 mmol/l (10 °dH)
Alkalinity up to pH 4.3 (carbonatic hardness) 0.71 - 3.57 mmol/l (2 - 10 °dH)
Chlorides = 100 mg/l
Electric conductibility at +25°C: 450 μS/cm
Residue after filtered drying = 350 mg/l
Free, dissolved chlorine = 1 mg/l Cl2
Supply water inlet temperature: +10 up to +25°C (50 - 77°F)
