STARTER MOTOR (See Figure 10F-2)
1. Disconnect the NEG (–) battery cable.
2. Disconnect the PUR/WHT solenoid wire from the
starter solenoid.
3. Remove starter.
4. Connect the cable to starter as shown.
5. Connect cable to POS (+) terminal of battery.
6. Touch the NEG (–) cable to the NEG (–) terminal
on the battery.

The starter motor should turn.
•
If the starter does not turn or turns slow, con-
nect a multimeter set at 20 VDC to the battery
and repeat Step 4. Voltage should not drop
below 10.5 volts.
•
If voltage is correct, starter may be faulty.
