6.1.2 Prepare the device for operation in frosty conditions
Risk of accident due to frozen braking system of the device
If the braking system of the device is frozen, it is no longer possib-
le to brake the device. This may even be fatal or result in serious
injuries.
Ensure that the braking system is fully functional.
To be able to operate the device safely
even at sub-zero temperatures:
Ensure that the braking system of the
unit is fully functional:
The compressed air tank is drained.
The braking system of the device is
adequately supplied with dried air or
sufficient antifreeze by the tractor?
Use a spraying agent suitable for use at
sub-zero temperatures.
Protect components such as foaming
agent with antifreeze agents against
freezing.
Ensure that the unit can be cleaned with
clean water after distribution.
