5.3.3 Check and mount cardan shaft
Prerequisite: Device is coupled to the
tractor.
 Check whether the length of the cardan
shaft is suitable.Also check telescopic
cardan shafts.
 The cardan shaft must not be com-
pressed when pushed in (PuLz).
 Shorten the cardan shaft if neces-
sary. See below.
 Largest possible profile coverage
(PuLb) of the cardan shaft
 Where applicable, use a longer
cardan shaft
 Add the cardan shaft operating instruc-
tions to the operating manual of the de-
vice.
 Mount one of the following PTO shaft
ends to the tractor:
 PTO shaft end marked with the tractor
symbol
 Wide-angle joint
 Mount opposite PTO shaft end to the
device.
