Check Waste bottle, should be empty
Place reagent bottles

Check the gradient pump tubes by pushing cassettes downwards (no click if correctly fixed and
in parallel position)
In case of a period of inactivity: Check the functioning of the valves with HARDWARE CHECK/LORRCA
IO/VALVES. During toggling ON/OFF each valve. should give a "click". If a pinch valve sticks,
perform a "P

Always check consumables for “USE-BY” date before starting
preparation.
Discard if “USE-BY” date has passed.
Start each day with performing a control sample (containing blood with normal values) before a
sample measurement. This control sample gives reference values for the patient samples.
7.2.1. Lorrca reagents
The Lorrca reagents are delivered in 5 ml vials (Elon ISO and Oxy ISO) or in storage bottles of 0.5
l (Osmo HIGH, Osmo LOW)
In all cases:
Store the reagent as indicated at the packaging. Lorrca reagents have a shelf life of one year,
stored at 4-30 °C.
Prior for use the reagents must be at room temperature. Do not heat!
Lorrca reagents are strongly adhesive after drying up! Therefore, we recommend to clean the
instrument by means of the automated rinse cycle and perform an end of day wash!
Once blood is added to the reagent, the sample tube may be used during one hour.
Invert for use, do not shake.
Do not forget to change the default viscosity value* in case of a new reagent batch at S
