6. Check or change (if needed) the default medium viscosity before the first test sequence in the
'V
ISCOSITY' field in the Sample data screen
* For Osmoscan measurements the mean of the viscosity of the Osmo HIGH and Osmo LOW has
to be set as default medium viscosity.
For the other measurements the viscosity of the Elon ISO and Oxy ISO (used for blood
preparation) has to be set as default medium viscosity.
Correct use of storage bottles:
Close the storage bottles immediately after filling the instrument bottles.
Transfer the Lorrca reagent directly from storage bottles in instrument bottles.
Check for turbidity and discard if turbidity develops.
Do not return reagents from the instrument bottles back in storage bottles.
After opening, the reagents can be used during one week, stored at 4-7°C (in instrument
bottles as well as the remaining reagents in the storage bottle).
Use only the reagent bottles as supplied with the Lorrca® MaxSis.
7.2.2. RBC necessary per test/scan
For a good quality and stable RBC diffraction pattern a minimum number of cells is required.
Whole healthy blood contains ~4 million cells per µl
Add 25 microliter whole blood to 5 milliliter ELON ISO for a Deformability measurement
