7.8. Performing Oxygenscan
This manufacturer’s standard operating protocol is to be validated in each lab.
Prior to use, samples should be stored at 2-8 ⁰C; test the sample after a fixed (cold) storage
time.
Prior to use, the Oxy ISO reagent should be stored at room temperature for at least 24 hours
(to accommodate to the level of dissolved oxygen corresponding to ambient temperature)
7.8.1. Pre-test preparations
Start-up
1. Switch pc and Lorrca on
2. Open the nitrogen cylinder
3. Lower de Bob into de Cup (to start accommodating to a 37⁰C temperature)
4. Start software
5. Run the 'Self Check' (if it fails, re-run Self check in Hardware --> pO2)
6. If the self-check consistently fails because the measured value of ambient oxygen level is
below 130 mmHg it is time to change the oxygen sensor spot1).
7. Perform a 'test run' with any (old) blood sample
8. Rinse
