Use the instrument only for measurements the way described in this manual. The vendor is not
responsible for any damage or harm resulting from incompetent or undocumented use.
Inside the instrument laser light is used for both the elongation and aggregation
measurements. Avoid direct exposure to the laser radiation since this may cause permanent
damage to human tissue. Always close the hood before starting a measurement.
During measurements with the instrument the cup is rotating. Never touch the cup while it is
rotating.
The waste must be treated as potentially infectious (biohazards) material and disposed of
according to local regulations. Check your local environment rules about discharging the waste.
Inside the instrument hazardous voltages reside. Never open the Lorrca® MaxSis. Leave
servicing to qualified service personnel only.
Avoid exposing the instrument to high temperatures (higher than 35°C), direct sunlight or high
humidity (> 80 %).
Before starting work check the technical condition of the instrument and pay particular attention
to:
Protective safety parts: Do they work properly and are they in the correct place.
Loose tubes: Connect them to the right position. See drawing LORC070020 Tubing
diagram (on page 219)
Electrical connections: are they not damaged.
Light: Does it works properly.
Prepare required tools.
Never leave the instrument unattended during work. Refit the protective hood after any
repair and/or maintenance work.
WARNING: Ensure the protective hood is closed during normal
instrument operation!
